Clothing and accessories for your poodle

Clothing

There are lots, and lots, of different clothing items available from knitted jumpers to all weather coats, and even Dryrobe do a Dog Coat (https://amzn.to/43mezWb), which if it’s anything like the regular version will keep your poodle very dry.

Peggy has a hi-vis jacket for work, as she’s often around chainsaws and lawnmowers, so that she can be easily seen, and hers is also waterproof.

She has the same jacket in black that has a removable fleece lining, so that it can easily be washed.

In the colder months it’s definitely advisable to get something to keep your poodle warm, and also have a towel ready for feet and legs when you get home.

I’ve even seen that you can get dog boots, but have never tried as they look as though they could be awkward.

It will also depend on the willingness of your dog to wear anything!

Leads and harnesses

Something else your dog is likely to wear is a lead or a harness.

We use a lead on Peggy, as she’s only small (https://amzn.to/4k3sbvb), but as some dogs do pull a harness might be better for your poodle.

Retractable leads, which can also be used with a harness, are good as they give your poodle a little more room to roam.

Collars

The most personalised item your poodle will wear is their collar.

Peggy has had the same collar for the past ten years, which has a beautiful, beaded pattern, from a company called Malula (www.malulu.co.uk)

There’s so many available, it’s just a case of finding one that you really like.
