What are the types of poodle?

Poodles make for a clever and loyal companion and there are three main types including: standard, miniature and toy.

Standard Poodle

Standards are the tallest type of poodle and have a friendly personality.

They are also the most energetic poodle and favour regular exercise.

Standards like having a job to do and are eager to please which makes them highly trainable.

As standards are an intelligent dog, the second most intelligent breed after border collies, they will need plenty of mental stimulation to prevent boredom and possible mischief.

Bored poodles may exhibit frustrating behaviours such as excessive barking, so it’s good to have plenty of puzzles and enrichment toys to keep them busy.
